Dith Pran, a photojournalist for the New York Times, died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 65. He was most famous for his for his amazing story of the "Killing Fields" in Cambodia, having been a captive in a relocation slave labor camp in the countryside with the brutal Khmer Rouge regime. He escaped to Thailand after 4 years of capture and reunited with his journalist friend Sydney H. Schanberg. The movie "The Killing Fields" is a very accurate account of Dith's experience. Rent it or buy it. Check out the video here about Pran's last words. Very touching. Check out his project wesbite here.
