45/365 Tony Bennett's Book

I had to use this as my 365 project photo of the day. I've haven't been feeling well lately. Too long to explain, but I've been calling out sick, and feel absolutely lousy. This project, though my mind isn't into it right now, it has distracted me from not feeling well. This is a picture of a book I picked up by Tony Bennett. It's a book of his paintings. (Check out his art website!!!) This is his website about him. Actually, it's more than that. He talks about his career in music, his studies in art school, and it shows sketches and paintings he's done over the years along with wonderful stories about them. I was fascinated by this book. He is just a well-grounded, wonderful man and artist. I certainly can learn a lot from his life's teachings.

I've always wanted to meet him. Actually, I would love to sing with him in the studio, and maybe go check out his paintings in person. He is just a fascinating artist.

Wish I could meet him.

44/365 Self-Portrait

I woke up in a terrible funk this morning. I was also in a bit of pain. My sister invited me upstairs to go into the hot tub, something I haven't done in a long time. It made the difference.

This is part of the 365 project. The picture here in B&W with the green siding is my pick of the day. My sister wanted the shadow picture below to be the pick of the day, but I don't think it's quite enough. The next picture I added a Lomo effect. I just love that cheesy contrasty effect.

All taken with a Canon SD800, because I was too lazy to bring out the Nikon.

43/365 Out with the old...

...in with the new. The boot on the left is worn out. The new one is on the right. But you already knew that. I've been feeling like the boot on the left. Well, it's out with the old, right? This is part of the 365 project.

Done in Photoshop.

Speaking Out About Islam

This guy is right on!

Playing with Photoshop

I love Photoshop! It's so cool! Wish I knew more about it. I need to take a class with someone who can teach me professionally. That would be a wonderful job to have; playing in photoshop all day long. Of course, I need to have my eyes checked first, because reading text is hard without those magnifying glass eye glasses.

PhotoshopUserTV is a cool website.

Photoshop Diva is Katrin Eismann.

42/365 Sipping Coffee

I set-up the coffee maker the night before, if I am going to be home to drink it. I use half-decaf half-caf blend. It's usually the Costco brand of Columbian Coffee, which is very good. I sometimes mix in the decaf "Cafe San Miguel" with it.

I'm not drinking some cheap brand like Maxwell House or Folger's coffee. It tastes terribly bitter to me. I don't care for Dunkin Donuts coffee. I hate their cream. I think their coffee is terrible. I drink Starbucks once in a while, but it messes up my guts. Still, they have more variety, even if it costs a car payment! I like Whole Donut coffee, but they are a bit weak. I still think it's better than Dunkin's coffee.

I experiment with different brands. I once sent for this free trader coffee whose business was owned by women in a third world country. It was this wonderful program to give back to the pickers, all of the profits, so they could make a decent living. I spent a lot of money on this coffee. It was the weakest coffee I ever drank, though the flavor was still better than Dunkin! It's too bad. I thought I had a connection to some primo stuff. The amazon.com mug was given as a gift around Christmas time. I must have spent a fortune with them and they sent me a mug two years in a row. Then they stopped sending them. Funny, I didn't stop spending a fortune.

Lastly, I love anything to do with coffee, so this comic strip "Too Much Coffe Man" or TMCM is an awesome one.

This is my shot of the day for my 365 project.

41/365 Tillie is Caught!

Here is a close-up of Tillie's expression, for those who need glasses. Notice the "caught" expression. I've decided that this is the shot of the day. Yeah, it's cropped. I get so few pictures of my shy dog. She's older now, and I have to sneak them in. Plus, if I can get as many pictures of my dog in the 365 project, I'm going to do it. Maybe not every day, but I have to put Tillie in there. This might be her last year alive on the planet. She's going to be 15 years old this October. Her kidneys are failing. She has a major heart murmur, and she has other ailments. She is on 8 weeks of antibiotics for her infections, but I have to say, she seems to be getting better. She may not get healthy kidneys, (and will wear pampers forever), but her energy is back. So, the pills are working for that at least. Isn't she adorable, even with a guilty face?? She has been taking off exploring lately. It's Spring, and new smells are everywhere! Little brat! look at her face! She is so guilty! LOL!!! Taken with a Canon SD800.

Starbucks Cup

Did you read what this says?? This is freakin' hilarious!! Years and years I've listened to a lot of HORSE SHIT! Let me explain. I apply this every single day at my job when I listen to inmates and their tales about crime. They always have some sort of rationale as to why they think they should be freed from prison for what they did. They explain why they committed the crime, and how they were justified. Only a select few admit to their mistakes and believe they deserve the time they are serving in prison. The number one prisoner most in denial? Inmates who were sent to prison for drunk driving. So, what have I learned from this, like the guy on the cup says? I learned that there are some warped humans in this world. Really warped! I won't even begin to explain the rationale of my coworkers! I should write a book. It would be an eye opener.

The cappuccino was yummy with whipped cream!

Bird in Nest

I love birds. Another reason why I photographed this nest. My sister Diane set this up. Isn't is cool? The eggs are spotted. Where did she get these eggs? Where the heck did the bird come from? Or the nest? Was this a set? (Who's Susan Richards? Private Joke. Hahahahah!) All I know is that it's cool to photograph. (My second choice for the 365 project. Tillie's close-up shot was first choice. I chose it for emotion more than quality. I prefer the better quality of this photo more. Taken with a Canon SD800.

Beautiful Leaf Pattern on Pillow

My sister's pillows has the most beautiful patterns. I love leaves, and this is a gorgeous pattern. I photograph all her stuff when she is at work. LOL!!!

Yeah, Diane, I am taking pictures of all your stuf!!! Bwahahahahahahah!

This was another shot in the 365 project running.

Taken with a Canon SD800.

Psycho Rabbit

Having fun with photoshop.

My Leg In Pajamas

I don't know why I like this. I think it's strange. Maybe that's why? I like self-portraits of body parts! LOL!! I did a layer where I turned this into B&W and colored in the leg. I should use this as my 365 project photo. (It was my 3rd choice.) I have several pictures I've taken today, but can't seem to choose one. There is going to be a few in the 365 Overflow set.

Cafe San Miguel

This is wonderful coffee that I picked up at the "Ten Thousand Villages" store in Northampton, Massachusetts. There is also one in West Hartford, Connecticut.

40/365 Headache

I woke up with a headche, the one I had since yesterday. Not fun. This 365 project was the last thing on my mind.

Of course my dog takes off into the neighbor's yard
and I have to chase her deaf ass all over the place. She knew what she was doing, because when she saw me coming, she bolted towards the house. Little shit! Now she is begging for dog bones. I just have to laugh! At least she can still RUN!

Actually, she's been quite perky lately, so maybe her antibiotics are working? She's on them for 8 weeks! She still wears the pampers every single day due to her excessive peeing. No wonder I get headaches. LOL!!!

Seriously, she is a pain in the ass, but I'm glad she's still around to bug me. I can't bear the thought of her dying. I've had her for 14 years. I'd photograph her more for this project, but as you know, she is afraid of the camera now that she is starting to lose her eyesight.

Okay, the migraine meds are kicking in. Time for more coffee. Speaking of which, I have to photograph this cool coffee I buy from the "Ten thousand Villages" store. My cousin Caryn would love it. My sisters and brother-in-law love already love it. You'll see the picture above me. Go and buy it if you get a chance. It is better than Starbucks. Yes, I said it! It's true. Also check out this Coffee Review website.

Pics

These pictures were taken by my sister Susan on Easter day.

39/365 Sigg Switzerland

I bought this Sigg Water Bottle a while ago, but haven't used it yet. I don't know why I keep using the plastic bottles; probably due to convenience. This is much more environmentally friendly.

Plus, I like the total design of these bottles. They have interchangeable tops, beautiful patterns, colors, and fonts. Part of the 365 project.

38 365 Hand Sanitizer

This is my shot of the day. This Purell bottle was given to me by my brother-in-law John. It is a small bottle of Purell attached to a pulley system. There is a belt clip to attach it. Whenever I need to sanitize my hands while at work, I just pull on the bottle, and the pulley system goes to work extending the bottle out from my hip, thereby allowing me to access the antibacterial goodness. :)

This is part of the 365 project.

Rex

My sister has three dogs. Rex is the fox terrier. Not the best pictures, but he just wouldn't look at the camera. He is being put down this week. His is old and frail. I am surprised he made it this weekend. Poor guy. he was a rescue dog, so had some lovely years with Sue and John.

Easter Sunday 2008

I didn't take too many pictures. I did photograph the eggs and the crab meat appetizers with the Pineapple. My sister made a wonderful brunch. Someone commented on flickr how lovely the crab meat was displayed. I just eat it, I didn't make it. My sister Diane made all of it. All of the food was wonderful.

My sister Sue and her hubby John came down with their three dogs. Rex is the Wire Hair Fox Terrier, which is very old and is being put down this week. He is so frail. Poor thing. My dog isn't quite that frail yet. She is much perkier. I don't look forward to putting her to sleep.

These eggs and crab meat pictures are part of the 365 overflow set.

37/365 Tillie Sleeping

I was only able to get two shots off on the digital camera. Then she woke right up. I hid the camera, so she wouldn't be afraid. She loves to sleep on the cool cement in the pantry. :) This is my 365 project shot of the day. I picked this shot over the other Easter egg shots, (and my fave shot of the crab meat appetizers), because this may be Tillie's last Easter.

All the shots for 365 can be seen HERE.

36/365 Daniella Orchids

My sister gave me these beautiful orchids called Daniella. That was our Mom's name. I didn't want to do this 365 project today. It was very difficult to do this today, given what's been going on. Can't explain, because it's just too long and who cares?

Not Happy, Bitch!!!

Tillie is blurry in all of these photos. She didn't notice my taking pictures with the iPhone while she ate off a plate I was holding. She is petrified of cameras. I think it's because she is slowly losing her eye sight. Hey, I have to get pics of her while I can, even if they are blurry. She is so old now, and I don't know how many more I can get before she dies!

35/365 Drive-By Shootings

This is a book of black and white photography by David Bradford. He was a taxi driver when he took all of these photographs. They are of people in his cab, all candid shots, and random shots of the streets of New York. I found this book very interesting. The book never quite took off. It's not like a Herb Ritts or Bruce Weber book, but I found it unique and interesting.

34/365 Aren't They Lovely?

I thought of this idea last night. Well, part of it. I was just going to shoot the book, then realized that my Mom's picture with this book would make the shot more personal and endearing to me.

I always thought that my Mom and Audrey were similar in many ways. They both had authentic and beautiful souls. They had similar features and builds. They both had a standard of grace and beauty they lived by. Both were very evolved spiritually. By that I mean, they caused no one any harm and lived by a certain code of ethics that not many people do. They were classy and down to earth, (approachable). They always were giving and generous to a fault. So many similarities. The book is a beautiful look into what made Audrey so wonderful. It certainly wasn't her celebrity. It was her philosophy on life, which was similar to my Mom's. Anyway, that's my shot of the day for this 365 project.

33/365 Stop the Insanity

Just me horsing around, because I didn't want to work today. I'm kind of dreading it, but it's overtime, so may as well make a little extra money. Part of the 365 project.

32/365 Awake

My first day off, and I just want to sleep. I know it's because I am depressed, but also due to my body trying to get over the punishment I gave it yesterday at the gym. I did back and biceps so fast, and so heavy, that I was just about in a coma later on that night. My body started immediately to repair itself from the shit I did to it. I could feel it. It's amazing! So, I just let it do its thing.

As I get older it is harder to recoup from these kind of workouts. I can't help it. I love to work out. It's all I have. It's all that I look forward to, besides the occasional glee from taking pictures. Even taking pictures can get annoying. It's too mind stimulating, and I'm always in my mind, so it's annoying. At least with a workout, I know I accomplished something, even if its pain. I am also not thinking; just doing. It's a break from my mind.

Do you ever wake up and not want to be around yourself? Like you wish your brain could be in someone else's body, and you could have their brain for a day; to get a different perspective on life? Wouldn't that be wonderful? How would you see things? Would it be more exciting? Would you see the same colors, or think better thoughts? Would you be as compassionate? I guess it could be a nightmare depending on who's brain you were using that day. What if I ended up with a an ass hole's brain? Some criminal, or cruel person?. That would suck! I would like to choose the brain. Maybe Hawking's brain? Wow. What a intense day that would be. Just don't let me get a Britney Spears type of brain. I would jump off a cliff in shear disgust! Okay, now I am rambling on. Oh, who gives a shit anyway? Go ahead and enjoy my dementia. (Part of the 365 project.)

Sleeping

I love to sleep. It's my favorite thing to do. I hate getting out of a warm bed in the morning. Then there are the days, I just don't want to get up at all. Getting started in the morning is difficult sometimes. There are days I jump out, and there are days I just want to laze around. I have weird days off, so no one is around to hang out with, so all I do is errands, and chores. What else is there to do in the winter. I hate winter sports. I used to ski, but it became so prohibitively expensive, and too far to drive. There are only so many times I want to shop or go to a bookstore. I can't walk my dog anymore. She walks a little bit, then starts to limp, and I have to carry her back to the house. I go work out, but then only an hour or so passes, and I have the rest of the day. I can't wait for winter to be over so I can ride my bicycle. There is nothing more exhilarating than riding a bike in the morning hours, when it's crisp outside.

Taken with a Canon SD800, for all you gear whores out there. ;)

31/365 Polish Falcon

This was my father's. I inherited it. I have worn it for 21 years while working in the prison system. I'd like to think it protected me from harm. Who knows.
