14/365 My Swat Boots

My picture of the day is of the Swat boots I wear at work. It goes with the whole ominous uniform. (365 Project)

Do you think I need new boots? These look shot, huh?

13/365 Pajamas 02-28-08

As we head away from February, and hopefully cold days, I am happy for my pajamas which keep me warm at night. These are the shots I chose for today, having to take the picture so early in the morning, I am low on choices and time. So, I picked the pajamas, because I like the pattern. It reminds me of gift wrapping. (365 project).

12/365 Kripalu Yoga

Again, I didn't have much time this morning, so this is the shot I took. I bought this book to learn about Yoga. This book is very interesting. THe shot was taken quickly, but I was definitely right there in the moment. I figure this goes with the theme. Now, if I can get the time to try this. LOL!!

Taken with a Canon SD800, my little camera.

Part of the 365 project.

11/365 iPhone picture

I took two photos today. It's all I had time for due to work and being busy. To tell you the truth, I'm exhausted.

This is part of the 365 project. Taken with a Canon SD800.

10/365 Tillie's Pills

Today's picture is of Tillie's pills. My dog is 14 plus years old, and in a pamper because she can't control her peeing. Such is the life of an old dog. She is on antibiotics for the infection, (again), and on pills to slow down her incontinence. This is the second time in a month I brought her to the vet for this. She is old, and her kidneys are basically starting to fail.

I don't think I ever had a pill bottle so big in the house.

Who Are You Now?

Who are you now
now that you're mine?
Are you something more
than you were before?
Are you warmer in the rain?
Are you stronger for my touch?
Am I giving too little
by my loving you too much?

How is the view?
Sunny and green?
How do you compare it to
the views you've seen?
I know I am  better, braver, and surer too...but
Who are you now?
Who are you now?
Are you someone better for my love?

09/365 Nikon D80 Pictures

This is today's shots for the 365 project. I tried a few ideas, and connected most with the prosperity dragon and the Buddha. The Buddha is the shot of the day. The dragon a close second. It took a while to figure out a subject matter. I chose the gumdrops first. Then I took some pictures of the dragon with the incense. How cool! The dragon smokes through his nose! I took pictures of Tillie without her knowing, as she is petrified of the camera in her old age. No idea. Don't ask. The Buddha is the shot of the day. I enjoyed taking those photos, and was present in the moment.

08/365 So Many Pictures

I took so many pictures today. I think because I have the day off, and used the better camera, it slowed me down to experience the picture taking. I like natural lighting, which a fast lens allows. Upstairs, the lighting is much better in the house. These are all from today. (365 Project).

Camera used: Nikon D80 with a 50mm lens. All pictures are RAW.

I felt great taking these pictures. I connected most with the orchids. The first shot is my favorite and turned out to be the February 23rd shot of the day. The lighting is wonderful upstairs, and I would like to use that area for natural lighting in the future.

Each day I have to slow my mind down and absorb what's around me in order to photograph. It's difficult most times, but today was a bit smoother than the last few days. I do notice that I can relax and let it be more on my days off. I don't feel rushed.

07/365 At The Gym

I went to the gym today and worked out on shoulders, abs, and did some cardio. What better place to do a self-portrait? Only, the iPhone is kind of a pain in the ass to do self-portraits with, (no real button to press and know the shot was taken). I did the best I could, and still did enjoy the moment, which was the point.

By the way, the second picture from the top was my choice of the day for the 365 project.

06/365 Okay, here it is... (02-21-08)

I worked a double shift yesterday and wasn't able to post my photo of the day for my 365 project. So, here it is today, though the shot was officially taken yesterday. This past week has been extremely stressful, and I am just now beginning to get my brain back. I'm feeling better though, and am happy to be alive and kicking.
I'm about to head out to the gym in this snow storm, and although I despise driving in snow, am looking forward to getting my workout in today. I haven't been to the gym since February 19th, and I feel it! (Especially after the double shift!) I will be creating today's photo later on.

About today's photo: This little rubber ring is wonderful. Years ago I purchased two of them and used them in my car as I drive. When I get to a stop light or am in traffic, I still use one (though disintegrating), to build forearm strength. The problem is, they have been very difficult to find...that is until the internet! My chiropractor was also looking for this wonder ring. (I adore my chiropractor. He's helped me get realigned this past year!!)  Usually found in climbing gear sections of EMS (not anymore) or REI, or online. I found this at Climbing Gear  but then found it online at REI. So, don't give up when you can't find a product. The internet will produce, and I just loved the search for this. It took less than five minutes!!

05/365 Picture of the Day

I had a tough time this morning. I was exhausted, and the pictures I took weren't that great for the 365 day project. I tried though, and these are the two I picked from; choosing my ponytail as the picture of the day.

I still don't feel the total moment when taking the photograph. I think it's because it's so early in the morning. I am hoping my days off will bring a more conscious result.

03/365 and 04/365 Picture of the day

I had to choose, and it was hard. I didn't like any of the photos today. I woke up in the morning around 4:15 am, and the last thing I'm thinking about is taking a picture. First of all it's dark outside, and therefore no light inside, except that yucky indoor lighting from lamps. Then I was tired, and not motivated. I had to choose, and I did take a few photos. So, I forgot about it, having to get ready for work. Besides, they weren't worth showing and I dumped the files. I wasn't inspired that early in the morning.
Later on, I was able to take a few more photos. I ended up choosing the salad photo (taken with the iPhone), over the baby bucket, butt paste (LOL!!) and bug picture on the bucket, (taken with the Canon SD800). I chose the salad photo, because it was taken more in the moment, which is the point of my flickr "365 days to consciousness through photography", or better put, "365 days to enlightenment". It was also more personal to me. The other photos were taken for my sister who bought the bucket and contents for a baby shower she's going to this weekend.

02/365 Today's shot(s)

I have two shots today. I like both of them, but chose the doorknob as first place. (My sister chose the sneaker shot as first place.) Anyway, they are both in the 365 flickr group, so choose which one you like better. I'm curious to know!

01/365 This Morning's Photos with iPhone

This represents a new project I am gifting to myself. I started today (02-16-08) in my flickr group that I created. It involves taking at least one picture a day of anything, but doing it in the present moment. It's a way of acknowledging the pure moment while creating and being one with it. If you would like to join, or check it out, go to my flickr site.

I took a few random shots this morning with my iPhone. (Yes, I cleaned them up in Photoshop!) I am starting to become more aware of my surroundings, and using the camera helps me to slow life down a bit and enjoy what I see. Granted, it isn't the D-SLR or even the Canon, but the iPhone I am using, but I have to start somewhere. It's the point of slowing down and really being in the moment. I am enjoying this immensely!

Mad World

This video says it all about people who haven't woken up, who are part of the mad egoic collective mind of this world.

Little Boxes

Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes on the hillside
Little Boxes all the same

There's a green one and a pink one, and a blue one and yellow one
and they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses all went to the University
where they were put in boxes and they came out all the same
And there's Doctors, and Lawyers, and Business Executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same

And they all play on the golf course and drink they're martinis dry
and they all have pretty children and the children go to school
and the children go to summer camp, and then to the University
where they are put in boxes and they come out all the same

And the boys go into business and marry and raise a family
in boxes made of ticky tacky and they all look just the same

There's a pink one and a green one, and a blue one and yellow one
and they're all made out of ticky tacky
and they all look just the same.
